Music for Smiles Concert

Our children need our support and love, therefore, this year Hillbrook has decided to team up with a wonderful organization called ConKerr Cancer.  The mission of ConKerr is “A Case for Smiles – Helping children feel special while battling life changing illnesses”.  Cindy Kerr started the organization in honor of her son Ryan Kerr.  While Ryan was in chemotherapy, Cindy Kerr created fun and colorful pillow cases to brighten up her son.  Not only was Ryan excited to see his new pillow case, but so were hospital staff members and the other children.  This is when ConKerr Cancer was born!  Cindy and others began to create pillow cases for all the children and have successfully delivered over 20,000 pillow cases. 

We are holding a fundraising concert at Hillbrook, located in Charles Town, West Virginia on September 13, 2008 with proceeds going to ConKerr Cancer.  We know that there is an intense and growing competition for the charitable dollar and we feel that the ConKerr Cancer is a group we are willing to support at Hillbrook!  Therefore, we have committed an evening of music, sumptuous foods as well as quilt auctions to take place, with proceeds benefiting the ConKerr Cancer.
